Peckham Levels & Laine Brew Co presents:
PINTY, MAXWELL OWIN, SERENDA & ELL MURPHY
This May, we’re celebrating our partnership with Laine Brew Co by throwing one hell of a party with Peckham’s own Pinty.
We’ve asked the South London MC to put together a line-up of his current fave DJs, singers and producers for a night showcasing the best that South East London has to offer. Alongside Pinty will be his production partner-in-crime Maxwell Owin, while Rinse FM Resident Serenda warms things up with a mix of soulful house, techno and jungle, after singing selector Ell Murphy opens the night with her unique combination of mixing and live vocals.
Good vibes, great beer and even better tunes all the way to 3am.
Pinty’s skippy verses and inventive wordplay place him among the most exciting voices in alternative UK music today. Hailing from South London, Pinty draws inspiration from people and places around him. His sound takes influence from the introspective poetry of The Streets, the downbeat moods of King Krule and the jazz tinged house tones of production partner Maxwell Owin.
His 2019 EP City Limits on Rhythm Section is a South London classic, which he followed up with a full LP Pinty’s House in 2022, as well as recent collaborations with the likes of Metronomy, Jadasea and Emma-Jean Thackray.
Catch his appearances on Boiler Room, Reprezent and Balamii to get a taste of his unique live performances.
“The rising MC from Peckham combines house and rap with an introspective vibe” - Mixmag
‘The Peckham rapper’s skippy garage beats evoke the pool halls, jazz-house and night bus rides of south London.’ - The Guardian
Max is a DJ you’ll never forget and a friend you will treasure forever.
As a producer, his credits are seemingly endless. He’s at the electronic and spiritual heart of so many of London’s brilliant jazz and improvisation based projects – from mixing Where Pathways Meet, to doing the mastering on the We Out Here film, to collaborating with Joe Armon-Jones in their outstanding record IDIOM.
Serenda is a British, Guyanese and Greek electronic DJ, producer and writer living in London. Influenced by the deep gospel spirit of house and the transcendental power of deep techno, she is here to remind you of the ritualistic healing potential of the rave experience.
South East London DJ and vocalist Ell Murphy has been making waves with her multi genre mixes and vocal features, singing live behind the decks, to deliver a unique performance style - recently featured by Clash Magazine in their artists ‘On the Cusp of Greatness’ for 2023. You can catch her high energy selections across the UK and beyond, with notable sets for Fabric, Hör Berlin, Outlook, Field Day & Keep Hush.
Over the past 18 months, Ell has collaborated with some of the most promising new talent in UK dance, including features with TSHA, Giulia Tess, Gemi, YUQT, LUXE & DJ Crisps – and releases on Shall Not Fade, Locked On Records, Kiwi Sounds – receiving widespread, continued support from the Radio 1 Dance team including Danny Howard, Sarah Story & Jaguar.

Space: The Gig Space, Level 5

Join us for the first ever Independent Venue Week gig at Peckham Levels!
We've curated a line-up of some of the most exciting emerging vocalists in South London, blurring the lines between neo-soul, jazz and electronic music. Come and find your next musical obsession and support your local independent music scene while you're at it.
Plumm x skttrd:
Plumm is a genre-bending, stage strutting chameleon, who performs with her own band and in larger collectives like Levitation Orchestra. She's been singled out as one-to-watch by the likes of Clash Magazine and Jamz Supernova.
skttrd (pronounced scattered) is an audiovisual project by digital artist hen dog, that releases music, performs live electronics and DJ sets, and curates skttrd.world – an immersive party bringing together live visuals and live electronics.
Together as a duo these two put on a live show mixing live and looped vocals with pulsing drum machines and wide atmospheric synths. Think Kate Bush meets BICEP. Their improvisational approach to live shows make every one a unique experience with a special connection with the audience. Bursting with rave nostalgia, their sound struts between trip hop, house, breaks and trance blurring the line between live performance and DJ’ing.
And Is Phi:
A multidisciplinary artist from Norway and the Philippines, now based in South East London. Andrea aka And is Phi is one of the key creative forces in the South London music scene, having performed with Steam Down, Emma Jean Thackray, Hector Plimmer, Scrimshire. With her solo material she delivers honey-smooth soul, angelic harps and ethereal vocals: a heavenly combo of sounds that shows what a talent this new London soul artist is.
MA.MOYO:
Belinda Zhawi is an artist based in London, author of Small Inheritances (ignitionpress, 2018) who experiments with sound/text performance as MA.MOYO. She heavily collaborates with musicians in the ever growing South East London jazz and beat-making scene - mainly with harpist Marysia Osu. Belinda’s work explores African diaspora research and narratives, and how art and education can be used as intersectional tools. Her literary & sound works have been featured on various platforms including Vogue, NTS, Boiler Room & BBC Radio.
Join us for what promises to be a life-affirming celebration of incredible independent music. Don't sleep on booking tickets!
